Caramelized Onion & Fig Flatbread Recipe – Sweet, Savory, and Crowd-Pleasing

This Caramelized Onion & Fig Flatbread was one of the biggest hits at our anniversary party, and it’s no surprise why. The combination of sweet jam, savory caramelized onions, and creamy goat cheese creates a flavor balance that feels restaurant-worthy but is easy enough to make at home. It’s perfect as a starter for dinner parties or even as a light meal paired with a salad.
Ingredients:

3 onions, thinly sliced into half moons

2 Tbsp butter

Pinch of salt

8–10 oz flatbread or thin rectangular pizza crust

½ cup Roasted Onion & Fig Jam
-
1 Packet of Caramelized Onion & Garlic Dip Mix
-
1 ½ cups Sour Cream
-
½ cup Mayonnaise
-
2 oz Goat Cheese
-
Fresh Rosemary for garnish
Instructions:

Prepare the Caramelized Onion & Garlic Dip Mix according to instructions and chill for at least 8 hours.

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and salt, cooking for 8–10 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook another 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Deglaze pan with 2–3 Tbsp water or broth.

Spread a layer of Roasted Onion & Fig Jam on the flatbread. Add a layer of prepared dip.

Top with caramelized onions and goat cheese.

Bake 7–8 minutes until warmed through. Broil 1 minute for golden tops.

Garnish with fresh rosemary before serving.
