Caramelized Onion & Fig Flatbread Recipe – Sweet, Savory, and Crowd-Pleasing

Caramelized Onion & Fig Flatbread

This Caramelized Onion & Fig Flatbread was one of the biggest hits at our anniversary party, and it’s no surprise why. The combination of sweet jam, savory caramelized onions, and creamy goat cheese creates a flavor balance that feels restaurant-worthy but is easy enough to make at home. It’s perfect as a starter for dinner parties or even as a light meal paired with a salad.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Caramelized Onion & Garlic Dip Mix according to instructions and chill for at least 8 hours.

  2. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and salt, cooking for 8–10 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook another 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Deglaze pan with 2–3 Tbsp water or broth.

  4. Spread a layer of Roasted Onion & Fig Jam on the flatbread. Add a layer of prepared dip.

  5. Top with caramelized onions and goat cheese.

  6. Bake 7–8 minutes until warmed through. Broil 1 minute for golden tops.

  7. Garnish with fresh rosemary before serving.
